Blauberg CENTRO 100 100 mm Inline Centrifugal Fan

Ducted ventilation with a 100 mm connection.

Working with 100 mm circular ductwork? Blauberg CENTRO 100 lets you position the fan along the duct route, away from the occupied space. It can supply outdoor air or extract stale air as part of a designed ventilation system, with wall or ceiling brackets included.

Maximum airflow is 250 m³/h (69 l/s). Check the CENTRO 100 fan curve at your required system pressure, then use the dimensions and electrical data below to complete the selection.

Supply and extract ventilation

CENTRIFUGAL PERFORMANCE

Airflow and pressure

The centrifugal impeller moves air through ductwork. Use the fan curve to check the airflow available at the pressure your duct system needs.

DUCT CONNECTION

100 mm circular ductwork

CENTRO 100 connects to 100 mm circular ductwork. Check the fan dimensions and required duty before confirming the installation.

INSTALLATION

Wall or ceiling mounting

Install in any mounting position using the fixing brackets supplied for wall or ceiling mounting. Provide access for inspection and maintenance.

MOTOR & IMPELLER

Thermal overload protection

The 1-phase external rotor motor includes ball bearings and integrated thermal protection with automatic restart. The impeller is dynamically balanced.

Plan the duty around 100 mm ductwork.

For an office refurbishment, washroom extract or residential ventilation project, the connection size is a useful starting point. CENTRO 100 combines that 100 mm connection with a centrifugal impeller and maximum airflow of 250 m³/h. Check its fan curve against the resistance of the complete duct run to confirm the airflow your installation will receive.

Plan access to your CENTRO 100.

A ceiling void or service area can keep the fan clear of the room layout. Use the supplied brackets, follow the airflow arrow on the casing and leave access to the terminal box and fan cover. The 2.08 kg unit can be mounted in any position in accordance with the installation guide.

Ventilation that leaves the room layout to you.

For a home refurbishment or a small commercial space, the fan can sit along the duct route while the room uses a separate grille. CENTRO 100 can supply outdoor air or extract stale air, according to the system design. Agree the required airflow and sound level with your installer, and keep the fan accessible for servicing.

Installation & control

Set the airflow to suit the space

The 1-phase AC motor can be speed controlled using a compatible external thyristor controller or autotransformer, supplied separately. Ball bearings and a dynamically balanced impeller support continuous operation. Thermal overload protection has automatic restart; isolate the electrical supply before inspection or maintenance.

  • Wall or ceiling mounting brackets supplied; install in any mounting position in accordance with the user guide.
  • Follow the airflow direction marked on the casing and leave access to the terminal box and fan cover.
  • For horizontal installations, follow the guide’s minimum 1 m straight inlet duct requirement. Keep the specified straight duct sections at the inlet and outlet.
  • Have electrical connections made by a qualified electrician and follow the rating label on the supplied unit.
  • Ductwork and compatible external speed controllers are supplied separately.

What is supplied?

The CENTRO 100 fan and wall or ceiling mounting brackets. Select ductwork and any external speed controller to suit the installation.

Keep the fan serviceable

Leave access for inspection and cleaning. The thermal protection has automatic restart: isolate the electrical supply before maintenance and follow the user guide.

Check CENTRO 100 against your design duty

Use the required airflow and total system resistance to check the fan curve. Bends, grilles, filters and duct length affect the airflow available; the catalogue maximum is not the delivered airflow in every installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is an inline extractor fan?

An inline extractor fan is a ventilation device installed within ductwork to remove stale air, moisture, and odours from areas such as kitchens and bathrooms. This type of fan enhances indoor air quality and prevents mould growth. The Blauberg Centro-100 is an excellent example, suitable for both residential and commercial use, with a robust design and advanced features for reliable performance.

2. Are centrifugal inline extractor fans better than axial fans?

Centrifugal inline extractor fans generally outperform axial fans due to their higher extraction rates and quieter operation. For instance, the Blauberg Centro-100 features a centrifugal impeller with backward-curved blades, providing superior airflow performance, especially useful for longer duct runs and more complex ventilation setups.

3. How do you install an inline extractor fan?

Installing an inline extractor fan involves placing the unit within the ductwork, often in the ceiling or loft space. The Blauberg Centro-100 is designed for straightforward installation with its included fixing brackets and compatibility with 100mm duct connections. It is adaptable for various settings such as suspended ceilings, lofts, and service areas.

4. How big an inline fan do I need?

o determine the size of the inline fan you need, calculate the volume of the space and the desired air exchange rate. The Blauberg Centro-100 has an airflow capacity of up to 250 m³/hour (69 l/s) and can handle static pressure over 300 Pa, making it suitable for large or complex ventilation needs.

5. Are inline extractor fans quiet?

Inline extractor fans are designed for quieter operation compared to many traditional fans. The Blauberg Centro-100, for example, operates at a sound level of up to 40 dBA at 3 metres, ensuring a relatively quiet environment while maintaining efficient air extraction.

6. Can inline extractor fans handle long duct runs?

Yes, inline extractor fans are capable of handling longer duct runs, often up to 10 metres, without a significant drop in performance. The Blauberg Centro-100's aerodynamic design enhances airflow efficiency, making it highly effective for extended ductwork installations.

7. Where should an inline extractor fan be placed?

Placement of an inline extractor fan depends on the ventilation requirements. Common locations include between sections of ductwork, near the source of ventilation, or at the end of a duct. The Blauberg Centro-100 is versatile and can be easily mounted on walls or ceilings, making it suitable for various concealed installations.

8. Do inline extractor fans push or pull air better?

Inline fans can be set up to either push or pull air, depending on the installation requirements. The Blauberg Centro-100, with its German-made single-phase external rotor motor, delivers high performance in both configurations, ensuring optimal ventilation efficiency.

9. What are the benefits of using an inline extractor fan?

Using an inline extractor fan offers several advantages, including higher extraction rates, quieter operation, suitability for long duct runs, and less invasive installation. The Blauberg Centro-100 provides efficient ventilation, reduces electricity costs with its energy-efficient design, and is backed by a 5-year warranty, ensuring long-term reliability.

10. How far can an inline extractor fan extract?

Inline extractor fans can effectively manage air extraction over duct runs up to 10 metres. The Blauberg Centro-100, with its durable construction and advanced motor technology, ensures efficient performance even with extended duct lengths, making it a reliable choice for comprehensive ventilation solutions.
